National Program for the Grave Sites of Canadian Prime Ministers
The Government of Canada created the National Program for the Grave Sites of Canadian Prime Ministers in 1999 to ensure the conservation and awareness, in dignity and respect, of the grave sites of our deceased prime ministers.
Program elements include installing a Canadian flag and awareness panel at each grave site, sharing grave site information online, and creating a conservation plan for each former prime minister’s final resting place.
