Area Closed 
Effective Date: November 24, 2025 

Activities Restricted: Pursuant to section 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations the following area is hereby closed and restricted to authorized personnel only by order of the Superintendent, Elk Island National Park: 

Where: Bison Loop Road and surrounding area. 

Why: To ensure public safety associated with snow and icy road conditions, and to prevent wildlife from being disturbed. 

Penalty: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25,000.
