PROHIBITION ON WOOD FIRES

The following activities do not require a separate permit, but are a condition of your registered entry in Ivvavik National Park:

Pursuant to section 4(3) of the National Parks Fire Protection Regulations, wood fires are only permitted at Nunaluk Spit either within fire pits provided by Parks Canada or if contained within a portable stove such as a firebox or fire pan.

Pursuant to sections 12(1) and 12(2) of the National Parks General Regulations, only driftwood found on the ground at Nunaluk Spit may be burned as firewood. Cutting live or snag wood in Ivvavik National Park is prohibited.

Rights held by beneficiaries of applicable land claim agreements may supersede these restrictions
