Firth River prohibition on solo travel

Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, all parties traveling by water on the Firth River in lvvavik National Park are restricted to traveling with at least two distinct watercrafts actively being used, by order of the Superintendent.

Specialized and technical rescue for high angle and challenging swift water in lvvavik National Park is supported by rescue teams in southern parks and as such response time for emergencies may experience significant delays to this location.

Rights held by beneficiaries of applicable land claim agreements may supersede these restrictions.
