Due to inadequate snow cover, lowland areas of Gros Morne National Park are now closed to snowmobiling, effective April 25. See attached map and bulletin.

WHAT: Pursuant to section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following area is closed to over-snow vehicle use by order of the superintendent, Gros Morne National Park of Canada:

WHERE: Areas of Gros Morne National Park of Canada highlighted in red on the attached map.

WHY: This closure is for the protection of flora, fauna, habitat, and landscape, due to lack of snow.

NOTE: Any contravention of this notice constitutes an offence under section 24(2) of the Canada National Parks Act. Failure to comply with that Act, the applicable park regulations or this notice may be grounds for prosecution under the Canada National Parks Act.
