Pursuant to section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the Superintendent may, where it is necessary for the proper management of the Park, designate entry and travel in areas as prohibited. Effective immediately, and until further notice, all entry and travel within the following areas within Kluane National Park & Reserve is prohibited (as described below and as shown on the attached map):

1. Thechàl Dhâl’: South Face of Sheep Mountain between (but not including) the TD Ridge Route and Sheep Creek Trails
2. Thechàl Dhâl’ Ridge Route (May 1-June 15 only): Seasonal closure including the TD Ridge Route and surrounding area from Alaska Highway to the north end of the Sheep Creek Trail
3. The Dats’aala Chù’/Bullion Creek Dunes: Sand dunes and nearby area north of (but not including) the Aay Chu West Trail, between km 7.5 and 9.2
4. Sockeye Lake and River: Extending from the western shore of Louise Lake, including Sockeye Lake and River, the headwaters, and the surrounding area (not including the Cottonwood Trail)
5. Lower Alsek Dunes: Sand dune area on the east side of the Alsek River, approximately 40km south of Haines Junction
6. Fraser Creek Fen: Marshland south of (but not including) the Mush Lake Road, between Dalton Creek and the eastern shore of Mush Lake
7. Gyų’ Aan Nji/Steele Creek Alpine: Unglaciated terrain west of Teapot Mountain, north of Hazard Creek and Hazard and Steele glaciers, up to the height of land or the Park boundary
8. Logan Nunatak: The entire Logan Nunatak in Canada, extending east 29km from the US/Canada border

Provisions of Yukon First Nation Final Agreements, court decisions, and other aboriginal rights, as reached through an agreement with Canada, may take precedence over any restrictions/prohibitions made under these Regulations.
