FIRE BAN IN EFFECT

Ends: October 24, 2023

Pursuant to secton 3(1)(c) of the National Parks
of Canada Fire Protection Regulations, the
starting and/ or maintaining of fires within Grasslands
National Park hereby PROHIBITED by order
of the Superintendent, Saskatchewan South Field
Unit.
WHERE:
This fire ban covers the entire East and West
Blocks of Grasslands National Park including all
front and backcountry campgrounds and day use
areas
WHY:
For the prevention of wildfire during elevated Fire Danger conditions in Grasslands National Park.
WHAT IS ALLOWED:
Use of the following items are permitted on gravel or cement pads in designated campsites and cooking shelters in Frenchman Valley and Rock Creek Campgrounds ONLY during the fire ban provided they are under direct supervision and certified by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) or Underwriters Laboratories (UL):
Portable propane fire pits (prohibited at overflow campgrounds)
Gas or propane stoves and barbecues designed for cooking or heating
Propane or gas-fuelled lanterns (enclosed flame)
Patio heaters (propane, catalytic or infrared/radiant)
