La Mauricie National Park

Fire ban

Issued: May 29, 2023

Ends: June 29, 2023

Pursuant to section 3 (1) of the National Parks of Canada Fire Protection Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the park manager declares:

It is prohibited to start or maintain fires in any area of La Mauricie National Park until the ban is lifted.

For the purpose of this notice, any open fire is prohibited. This decision is made necessary due to the state of health emergency in order to reduce the risk of forest fires to its minimum.

It should be remembered that the cooperation of all is essential in order for the ban to be respected. This preventive measure is used to limit the dangers of human-caused forest fires in this time of forest vulnerability.

The ban is in effect from May 29, 2023 until it is lifted.

Individuals who do not comply with this notice may be subject to prosecution under section 24(1) of the National Parks Act of Canada.
