La Mauricie National Park
Special event – Cycling on the Parkway


As spring has arrived early this year, La Mauricie National Park is inviting cyclists to come and enjoy the 63 km of curves and elevation changes on the Parkway. This special event will be held on the weekend of May 17, 18 and 19. The Rivière à la Pêche area will be open to the public. However, the Parkway will only be open to bicycles over the long weekend.
Schedule
Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy the pleasures of the Parkway on Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the park's opening weekend by way of the Saint-Jean-des-Piles entrance.
- Saturday, May 17: 9 am to 2 pm
- Sunday, May 18: 9 am to 2 pm
- Monday, May 19: 9 am to 2 pm
Cyclists in the park have until 4:30 pm to complete their route. Anyone using the Parkway outside these hours may be liable to prosecution under section 24(1) of the Canada National Parks Act.
This activity on the Parkway during the national park's opening weekend is a special event with associated costs. A fee of $12 per cyclist will be charged in addition to the $9 park entrance fee.
Safety
- Cyclists will have to ride in single file on the shoulder of the road, as security vehicles may be on the road.
- The road will be open between 9 am and 4:30 pm each day.
- Last departures will be allowed at 2 pm on each day.
- Cyclists are responsible for their own safety and must be self-sufficient in the event of mechanical breakdown.
- Outhouses will be accessible along the road. For water replenishment, plan to stop by the Rivière à la Pêche Service Centre.
