Kouchibouguac National Park

Kouchibouguac’s forests constitute well over half of the park. Much of this forest is regenerating from land clearing associated with the lumbering, shipbuilding, and farming practices of the past. As forest succession proceeds, representation of native forest types is expected to improve.

Native forest types found in this region are part of the Acadian Forest biome, and include coniferous, hardwood, and mixed wood forest types. In addition, the park contains significant stands of rare forest vegetation.
