Kouchibouguac National Park consists of four principal ecosystem types:

Coastal systems

Coastal systems in Kouchibouguac consist of sand dunes, estuaries, and salt marshes.

Freshwater

Includes small rivers, lakes, freshwater marshes and swamps, and ponds.

Wetlands

Wetlands in Kouchibouguac consist of bogs and fens.

Forests ecosystems

Kouchibouguac’s forests constitute well over half of the park.
