Restricted activity: Dogs on public beaches

May 1 to October 31, 2022

What:

Pursuant to section 3(2)(b) of the National Parks of Canada Domestic Animals Regulations, dogs are PROHIBITED in the following designated area within Jasper National Park of Canada by order of the Superintendent, Jasper National Park of Canada.

Where:

The following beaches, as described on the attached maps:

  • Annette Lake Main beach
  • Edith Lake Main Beach
  • Pyramid Beach

Why:

To reduce the conflicts between user groups and to address public health issues associated with feces.

Penalty:

Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty, $25 000.
