Business licences

Elk Island National Park

Working in Elk Island National Park

A business licence is required for all businesses operating in Elk Island National Park. Common examples include, but are not limited to: guides, tourism operators, recreation programs, photography and videography businesses, food vendors, and transportation providers.

Each contractor and sub-contractor require their own business licence to work in the park.

If you are proposing a new business in Elk Island National Park or changing the location of an existing business you must email permiselkisland-elkislandpermits@pc.gc.ca with a narrative describing the proposal.

Business licence applications are reviewed by Parks Canada staff to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, to determine the terms and conditions of a potential permit, to ensure that the business is compatible with the protected heritage place’s purpose and nature, and the business doesn’t interfere with other events or activities.

Please note, complete applications must be confirmed received by Parks Canada no less than four weeks prior to when the licence is required.

If you have questions and would like more information about business licences please contact the permits e-mail at permiselkisland-elkislandpermits@pc.gc.ca
