RESTRICTED ACTIVITY: Motor vehicle access on identified roads

WHAT: Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the following activity is restricted or prohibited by order of the Superintendent:
Motor Vehicle Access on identified roads.
WHERE: Banff National Park of Canada secondary roads:
o Bow Valley Parkway (from its east end / junction with Highway 1, to its junction with Highway 93 South)
o Sunshine Road (beyond the Healy Trailhead Parking Lot)
o Tunnel Mountain Drive
WHY: Motor Vehicle Access is restricted to minimize the risk of the spread of COVID-19. To maintain critical services in the park vehicle access is not restricted for Parks Canada staff and contractors, emergency services, commercial facility operators, and utility, railway and transit operators.
PENALTY: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty
$25 000.
