The St-Laurent ethnologic collection is composed of more than 4,000 original artefacts donated by the St-Laurent family. This collection covers a large time period; as a matter of fact, it represents the presence of the St-Laurent family in Compton from 1881 to 1972. It allows us to really see how life was for the St-Laurent family through different eras.

In Compton, around 2,500 of the St-Laurent original objects are on display; 95% of them are inside the house. The general store's shelves, counters and tables are occupied by about 3,000 reproductions. This makes of the Louis S. St. Laurent National Historic Site of Canada the second-most important Parks Canada site in Quebec for displayed objects.
