Young and old alike, come and explore the inspiring world of lighthouses, pilots and navigation. Bring your picnic! Parka, the mascot, and other surprises await you!

By the way, the skeleton tower is 50 years old. That's something to celebrate!

Here's the schedule for the day. 

10 am to 4 pm: Fun and games!
Discover maritime communication with authentic flags. Can you call for help?
The lighthouses of the St. Lawrence have escaped! Help us find them!
Take part in the family research rally at the station. Participants will win a gift basket.


10 am to 12 pm: The lighthouse station is all about the birds! 
Talk about birds with members of the Club d'ornithologie du Bas-Saint-Laurent.
Learn more about an endangered swallow and a familiar bird that nests in a strange place at the station!
Observe the many species of birds that frequent Pointe-au-Père. Bring your binoculars!


11 am to 3 pm: Choose your tattoo!
Choose your temporary airbrush tattoo and sport the colours of the lighthouse station!


2 pm: An insight into the life of a lighthouse keeper. 
Join a Parks Canada employee for a pictorial talk. This activity is for children aged 8 and over and their parents. Duration: 30 to 40 minutes. 


3:30 pm: Parka visit!
Our mascot Parka will be making an appearance on the site. Can you find her?
