Again this year, Parks Canada is partnering with Les journées de la culture 2026 to present a special program at the Hangar 1825.

Crafting the Canal

Hands-on Workshops and Demonstrations with Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec. Carved out with a pick and a shovel, the Lachine Canal has always vibrated to the rhythm of the work of the women and men who shaped and evolved it.

This year, talented wood, metal, textile, paper and stone craftsmen invite you to discover their know-how through experimentation workshops and demonstrations.

Glide through History

Guided rabaska canoe tours with Parks Canada.

English-guided departures: 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. 

10 spots are available per tour, for ages 10 and up. The tour is free of charge and no experience is required. Boarding will be done at the upstream dock of the Saint-Gabriel Lock.
