Boundary Road Site Restoration

Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site

Parks Canada would like to update the public on the upcoming construction activity at the former Boundary Road Bridge crossing on the Talbot River, near Bolsover, Ontario.

In keeping with the update provided in November 2025, construction crews are scheduled to mobilize to the site starting the week of January 26, 2026. Over the winter months, residents can expect to see in water construction activities, including the removal of the former bridge piers and abutments, along with the removal of the former bridge operator building. Road works and landscaping will follow in the spring and summer. The work is expected to be completed by late summer 2026.

The site restoration plan was shaped by community and stakeholder feedback gathered through letters, emails, and a public survey conducted in December 2024. The What We Heard report, a summary of the engagement, was released in February 2025, and Parks Canada indicated its intent to move forward with plans to naturalize the site.

Parks Canada is committed to keeping the community informed as the project progresses and will share further details with the public once the construction schedule is finalized.
