Boundary Road Site Restoration

Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site

Parks Canada would like to advise the public of upcoming construction activity at the former Boundary Road Bridge crossing on the Talbot River, near Bolsover, Ontario.

The suggestion to keep the site natural was shaped by community and stakeholder feedback gathered through letters, emails, and a public survey conducted in December 2024. The What We Heard report, a summary of the engagement, was released in February 2025, and Parks Canada indicated its intent to move forward with plans to naturalize the site.

The Boundary Road Bridge restoration is expected to begin in the coming weeks, with crew members mobilizing the site for construction. In-water construction activities, such as removing the former bridge piers and abutments, are anticipated to begin in early 2026, and road works/landscaping are expected to occur in the Spring/Summer of 2026. The work is expected to be completed in the Summer of 2026.

Parks Canada is committed to keeping the community informed as the project progresses and will share further details with the public once the construction schedule is finalized.
