Off season on the Trent-Severn Waterway
Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site
The historic site is closed to the public from Thanksgiving to Victoria Day (mid-October to mid-May) and is not maintained during this period.Important Notice:
There are significant risks of falls due to uneven surfaces, snow, ice, and slippery areas near water and structures. Visitors use the site at their own risk.
For public safety, unauthorized activities such as walking, skating, downhill skiing, extreme sports, or ice bathing on the frozen or unfrozen waters of the Trent-Severn Waterway are prohibited. Violators may face charges under the Historic Canals Regulations.
Parks Canada assumes no liability for injury, death, or damage to anyone using the site while it is closed.
During the non-navigation season, aids to navigation may be missing, off-station, or inoperable until next spring.
