Acadian Commemoration Day at the Town of Annapolis Royal Amphitheatre

Join the Association Francophone de la Vallée and the Association des Familles Acadiennes de Port-Royal to mark this special day commemorating the Great Upheaval.

Program

2:30 pm – Gathering at the flagpole located at the amphitheatre.

2:35 pm – Welcome by the Mayor of Annapolis Royal.

2:40 pm – Raising of the Acadian flag accompanied by “Ave Maris Stella”.

Then, at around 3 pm, the mayor leads participants to the Queen's wharf.

The official declaration is read by Christine Igot, the Town Crier.

Paul Gaudet, AFAP representative, will say a few words.

Seven roses will be placed on a corner of the old wharf by an AFAP representative.

The ceremony will end at about 3:45 pm.
